Dear Mr. Cook:
Despite the solid gain of 1.72 today, I just don't see how we can get to a market cap of a trillion without Apple love from a whole lot of people (not just elites). A gesture of solidarity from Apple Inc. to the Black Lives Matter movement in this moment could be a big help, and would be a great show of corporate leadership. The cause is just anyway you slice it.
No rich person's not going to buy a watch or a phone this year because Apple exerted moral leadership, and if they do, who wants their custom anyway? But think of the millions of young people worldwide who may have thought Apple products were unaffordably out of their reach, who will be inspired to think again because you risked a show of compassion for their lives and solidarity with their plight.
Surely this gives you permission...
As we say in New Mexico--Carpe mañana!
